...HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS EXPECTED TODAY...

SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE TODAY...BRINGING IN SOME
OF THE WARMEST TEMPERATURES WE HAVE SEE SO FAR THIS SUMMER.
AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RISE INTO THE 90 TO 93
DEGREE RANGE. DEW POINT TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY TO RISE INTO THE
LOWER 70S WEST OF I-55...PERHAPS REACHING THE MID 70S WEST OF THE
ILLINOIS RIVER. THIS WOULD RESULT IN HEAT INDEX READINGS OF 100 TO
105 DEGREES DURING THE MIDDAY AND AFTERNOON IN THAT AREA. FURTHER
EAST...HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 95 TO 100 ARE MORE LIKELY.

HEAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN FOR THOSE AT RISK TO HEAT
RELATED ILLNESSES...OR IF YOU WILL BE SPENDING PROLONGED PERIODS
OF TIME OUTDOORS. REMEMBER...NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN OR PETS
UNATTENDED IN VEHICLES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES...AS CAR INTERIORS
CAN REACH LETHAL TEMPERATURES IN A MATTER OF MINUTES.
