   PZZ500-181645-  417 AM PDT Wed Oct 18 2017    .Synopsis for the Central California Coast and Bays Including  the Monterey Bay...Greater Farallones...and Cordell Bank  National Marine Sanctuaries...    Compressed marine inversions and an influx of moisture across the  coastal waters is resulting in areas of fog that is also extending  into the bays. Onshore pressure gradients will increase today  causing a general increase in winds over the bays this afternoon  into tonight. A small craft advisory will continue over the southern  inner coastal waters today and tonight. A cold front is forecast to  move across the waters late Thursday. This system may bring light  rain. A moderate to long period mixed northwesterly and southerly  swell has arrived with buoys reporting periods of 18 seconds across  the coastal waters. Late this week a very large northwesterly swell  train is forecast to move across the area. This large swell will  create hazardous conditions.    $$

Wind waves 3 ft in the evening...becoming 2 ft or less.  W swell 3 ft at 11 seconds and SW 3 ft at 16 seconds.  THU  N winds 10 kt...becoming W 10 to 20 kt in the afternoon.  Wind waves 2 ft or less. W swell 3 ft at 12 seconds and SW 3 ft  at 15 seconds.  THU NIGHT  W winds 5 to 15 kt. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft. W swell  4 to 6 ft at 20 seconds. Chance of showers after midnight.  FRI  NW winds 15 to 25 kt. Wind waves 3 to 5 ft. W swell 9 to  12 ft at 18 seconds.  SAT  NW winds 10 kt. Wind waves 2 ft or less. W swell 6 to  8 ft.  SUN  N winds 5 to 15 kt. Wind waves 1 to 3 ft. W swell 5 to  7 ft.    $$
