THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE NEARSHORE WATERS OF
WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP OVER WESTERN LAKE SUPERIOR
LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THE WINDS AND RESULTING WAVES
WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS FOR SMALL CRAFT. THE STRONGEST
WINDS AND HIGHEST WAVES WILL BE ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE WHERE A GALE
WARNING IS EFFECT FROM LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT. A
SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY HAS BEEN POSTED FOR LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
INTO TONIGHT FOR THE NORTH SHORE. PLEASE READ THE LATEST MARINE
WEATHER MESSAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

THE STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS AND RESULTING WAVES OVER WESTERN LAKE
SUPERIOR FRIDAY MORNING WILL CONTINUE TO CAUSE HAZARDOUS

SUPERIOR LATE THIS AFTERNOON...TONIGHT AND FRIDAY...

.A FAST MOVING COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THIS
AFTERNOON. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL
INCREASE TO 10 TO 20 KTS WITH GUSTS 25 TO 35 KTS AT TIMES. WAVES
ARE EXPECTED TO BUILD TO 6 FEET OR MORE ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE.
CONDITIONS SHOULD BE LESS SEVERE ALONG THE NORTH SHORE.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DULUTH HAS ISSUED A GALE
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM CDT
FRIDAY. THE SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST WINDS INCREASING TO 15 TO 25 KNOTS BY THIS
  EVENING.

* WIND GUSTS.....GUSTS OF 30 TO 35 KNOTS.


* WAVES/SEAS...BUILDING TO 8 TO 10 FEET FOR OVERNIGHT TONIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A GALE WARNING MEANS WINDS OF 34 TO 47 KNOTS ARE IMMINENT OR
OCCURRING. OPERATING A VESSEL IN GALE CONDITIONS REQUIRES
EXPERIENCE AND PROPERLY EQUIPPED VESSELS. IT IS HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED THAT MARINERS WITHOUT THE PROPER EXPERIENCE SEEK SAFE
HARBOR PRIOR TO THE ONSET OF GALE CONDITIONS.
