The main hazards within severe thunderstorms that do develop would be damaging wind gusts, a tornado or two, sub-severe to borderline severe hail of 1 inch in diameter (quarter-sized), and isolated flash flooding in areas that see efficient rainfall producing storms or storms that train over the same location leading to significant rainfall in a short period of time. Locations north of I-40 (northern Arkansas) may see strong thunderstorms with the possibility of a severe thunderstorm or two. The hazards would remain the same as those across central and southern Arkansas; however, the lack of instability across northern Arkansas will hinder severe weather overall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday A chance for showers and thunderstorms does exist between Saturday and Wednesday; however, widespread severe weather is not expected. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
River forecasts are based on current conditions and rainfall
forecasted to occur over the next 24 hours. During periods of
flooding...Evening forecasts are reissued with updated rainfall
forecasts.
