Coverage will increase overnight as the next system gets close to the area. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday Showers and storms will move through the area Saturday with some light snow possible over the higher terrain. Conditions improve Monday onwards as temperatures become noticeably warmer. A few showers and storms may fire along the Continental Divide each afternoon but this convection will be very isolated in nature. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued the following... WHAT...Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildfire Smoke. WHERE...North-central Montezuma County. Locations include, but are not limited to, Dolores. WHEN...900 AM Friday May 24 to 900 AM Saturday May 25 IMPACTS...The Spruce Creek Wildfire is burning in the San Juan National Forest, approximately 11 miles northeast of Dolores, Colorado. Areas of heavy smoke impacts remain on Friday morning. Improvement of smoke conditions are expected as daytime atmospheric mixing increases, however areas of moderate to heavy smoke remain possible in areas near the fire on Friday afternoon. Friday night and into Saturday morning smoke will settle in low lying areas, and heavy smoke remains possible in areas below the fire, especially along Lost Canyon Creek and along State Highway 145 south of Rico to Dolores. HEALTH INFORMATION...Public Health Recommendations: If smoke is thick or becomes thick in your neighborhood you may want to remain indoors. This is especially true for those with heart disease, respiratory illnesses, the very young, and older adults. Consider limiting outdoor activity when moderate to heavy smoke is present. Consider relocating temporarily if smoke is present indoors and is making you ill. If visibility is less than 5 miles in smoke in your neighborhood, smoke has reached levels that are unhealthy. $$
