This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Today should be mostly dry, but scattered showers and thunderstorms
develop later tonight, especially near and west of Interstate 29.
Severe weather is not expected with this activity, though stronger
storms late tonight may produce small hail.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Showers and thunderstorms advance eastward through the day Tuesday,
exiting east of U.S. Highway 71 by Tuesday evening. A few strong to
severe storms are possible Tuesday afternoon and early evening, with
a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe storms along and east of the Iowa
and Minnesota state Highway 60 corridor (Sioux City to Sheldon to
Worthington). Large hail up to half dollar size and isolated wind
gusts to 60 mph are the primary hazards.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, city sewers in Spencer can begin to back
  up. Highway 18 between Spencer and Dickens can start flooding if
  flows on the tributary creeks are also very high.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 13.2 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:15 PM CDT Sunday was 13.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.4
    feet just after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
