FLASH FLOODING. RISK...Limited. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma. ONSET...This afternoon and again late tonight. DISCUSSION... Showers and thunderstorms will likely move into eastern Oklahoma by early afternoon with scattered storms spreading into northwest Arkansas by late afternoon. A few storms across eastern Oklahoma could be marginally severe with damaging winds and hail. Locally heavy rainfall will be likely in the stronger storms. Additional showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move into the area late tonight, from the west, as a stronger upper level disturbances approaches. Locally heavy rainfall will again be possible with these storms, including localized flooding. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential. SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... More widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected on Friday. Locally heavy rainfall is likely with a few strong to severe thunderstorms possible south of I-40. Flooding may also become an issue, especially in areas that receive heavy rainfall today and tonight. Daily thunderstorm chances are expected this weekend through early next week as west to northwest flow aloft continues over the southern Plains.
