ONSET...This Morning. HEAVY RAIN. RISK...Elevated. AREA...Eastern Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas. ONSET...Ongoing. DISCUSSION... A complex of showers and thunderstorms across southwest Kansas and northwest Oklahoma early this morning will move southeast into northeast Oklahoma later this morning. These showers and storms will continue moving southeast through the day today, and will affect much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Severe weather is likely with these storms, with damaging winds being the main threat. Scattered thunderstorms will also occur in advance of the main storm complex this morning, and a few of these storms may become strong to severe, with large hail being the main threat. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible with the storms today, which may result in some localized flooding issues. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Another round of thunderstorms is expected Tuesday evening and overnight as a weak cold front moves into the area from the north. Some of these storms will likely be severe, and locally heavy rainfall will also be possible.
