PITTSBURG AND SOUTHEASTERN MUSKOGEE COUNTIES THROUGH 815 AM CDT...

At 731 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a
line extending from 8 miles west of Porum to Krebs to 4 miles
northwest of Wardville. Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow
         around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation
         is possible.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

DISCUSSION...
A complex of showers and thunderstorms across southwest Kansas
and northwest Oklahoma early this morning will move southeast into
northeast Oklahoma later this morning. These showers and storms
will continue moving southeast through the day today, and will
affect much of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Severe
weather is likely with these storms, with damaging winds being the
main threat. Scattered thunderstorms will also occur in advance
of the main storm complex this morning, and a few of these storms
may become strong to severe, with large hail being the main
threat. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible with the
storms today, which may result in some localized flooding issues.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
Another round of thunderstorms is expected Tuesday evening and
overnight as a weak cold front moves into the area from the north.
Some of these storms will likely be severe, and locally heavy
rainfall will also be possible. Thunderstorm chances will return
by Friday night through the weekend as storms that develop in the
high plains each afternoon move southeast towards our area each
night.
