This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southeast New Mexico,
southwest Texas and western Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect this morning through this evening
for Southeast New Mexico and adjacent parts of West Texas south
through the Chinati Mountains.

A High Wind Warning is in effect this afternoon and early evening
for the Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains with a Wind Advisory in
effect this afternoon and early evening for the Culberson and Eddy
County Plains, as well as northern and central Lea County.

A Heat Advisory is in effect Saturday afternoon and early evening
for the Davis and Chinati Mountains, Davis Mountain Foothills, Marfa
Plateau, Pecos and Terrell Counties, and central and lower Brewster
County.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Near-critical to critical fire weather conditions are possible
Sunday and Monday, mainly over the higher terrain west of the Pecos.

VALUES AS LOW AS 4 PERCENT, 20 FT WINDS GREATER THAN 20 MPH, AND
EXTREME FIRE DANGER...

* AFFECTED AREA...Southeast New Mexico and adjacent parts of West
  Texas south through the Chinati Mountains.

* TIMING...From 10 AM CDT /9 AM MDT/ this morning to 10 PM CDT
  /9 PM MDT/ this evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. Stronger
  gusts expected in the Guadalupe Mountains.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 4 percent.

* RFTI...8 or extreme.

* IMPACTS...Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that
  may generate sparks. Extinguish smoking material in vehicles.
  Accidental ignitions will have the potential to grow into
  dangerous wind-driven wildfires.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will increase
potential for fire growth and spread.

  Davis Mountain Foothills, Marfa Plateau, and central Brewster
  County, temperatures up to 104 expected.  For Pecos and Terrell
  Counties, temperatures up to 108 expected.  For lower Brewster
  County, temperatures up to 112 expected.

* WHERE...Central Brewster County, Lower Brewster County, Pecos, and
  Terrell Counties, and Chinati Mountains, Chisos Basin, Davis
  Mountains, Davis Mountains Foothills, and Marfa Plateau.

* WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...The elderly, very young, sick, and people with heart
  conditions are most at risk in extreme heat.
