HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED FOR TODAY. LOOK FOR HIGH
TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S. HEAT INDICES THIS
AFTERNOON SHOULD RANGE FROM 100 TO 105 DEGREES.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

CONTINUED HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED FOR FRIDAY THROUGH
SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED IN THE MIDDLE 90S TO NEAR
100. HEAT INDICES ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO BE ABOVE 100 AND APPROACHING
105 DEGREES AT MANY LOCATIONS...POSSIBLY HIGHER...DURING THE

SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A HEAT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM FRIDAY TO 9 PM CDT
SATURDAY.

* TEMPERATURES...WILL RANGE FROM THE MID 90S TO NEAR 100 DEGREES.
  HIGHER HUMIDITY WILL ALLOW HEAT INDICES TO RANGE FROM 102 TO
  108 DEGREES.

* IMPACTS...HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL ELEVATE THE RISK
  OF HEAT STRESS AND HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES SUCH AS HEAT
  EXHAUSTION OR HEAT STROKE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED. TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME
OUTSIDE. WHEN POSSIBLE...RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY
MORNING OR EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT
EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING
CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY...CALL 9 1 1.
