This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
South to southwest winds will be steadily increasing this morning in
advance of an approaching storm system. Wind speeds of 15 to 25 mph
with gusts of 35 mph or higher will be common by late morning.

The threat for severe weather will increase Friday afternoon and
continue into the overnight hours as the aforementioned storm system
approaches. A line of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms is
expected to develop over eastern Texas and Oklahoma and reach
western part of Arkansas during the early to mid afternoon hours.

This line is then expected to reach central Arkansas this evening
and sweep through the remainder of the state Friday night. The line
of storms is expected to reach the Mississippi River early Saturday
morning.

Scattered severe storms are possible with strong damaging winds in
excess of 60 mph the most likely threat during this event. However,
there remains a possibility of large hail and even a few tornadoes.
The severe potential with this system will end by day break Saturday.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday Through Thursday

Unsettled weather will continue through the period with several
additional storm systems expected to move across the area. There
will be a chance of some some stronger storms over western Arkansas
late Sunday and statewide on Wednesday.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING
TO 10 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* EVENT: Expect windy conditions today as southerly winds of 15
  to 25 mph...with gusts of 30 to 35 mph possible.

* AREAS AFFECTED: A large portion of Arkansas.

* TIMING: Expect the breezy to windy conditions to develop during
  the late morning hours today...persisting through the early
  evening hours. Expect the conditions to decrease by late evening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes and rivers. Small boats will be especially prone to
capsizing. Extra caution should be taken if out on area lakes and
rivers today.
