.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

HIGH SURF IS EXPECTED FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY. BREAKER
HEIGHTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE 20 TO 25 FEET.

HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
PERSISTENT SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE KEEPING TIDES 0.5 TO 1.5 FEET
HIGHER. THIS MAY CAUSE COASTAL FLOODING IN THE LOW LYING TIDAL
INFLUENCED AREAS ON THE NORTHWEST CA COAST.

HUMBOLDT AND DEL NORTE COUNTY COASTS THIS MORNING. LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL IS EXPECTED ALONG WITH OCCASSIONAL SMALL HAIL AND
ISOLATED LIGHTNING.

* WAVES AND SURF...BREAKING WAVES 22 TO 25 FEET ALONG WEST AND
NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES.

* TIMING...SURF RAPIDLY BUILDING THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT.
  THE LARGE SURF WILL CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS...LARGE BREAKING WAVES ALONG THE COAST WILL LEAD TO
  INCREASED WAVE RUN-UP ON BEACHES WITH WAVES TOPPING AND
  WASHING OVER LARGE ROCKS AND JETTIES. THESE LARGE WAVES CAN BE
  ERRATIC AND UNPREDICTABLE. USE EXTRA CAUTION NEAR THE SURF
  ZONE AS THESE LARGE WAVES WILL BE CAPABLE OF SWEEPING PEOPLE
  INTO THE FRIGID AND TURBULENT OCEAN WATERS. MARINERS
  TRAVERSING THE BAR ARE URGED TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION
  ESPECIALLY DURING MAX EBB WHICH IS PREDICTED TO OCCUR AROUND 1
  PM...OR STAY IN PORT UNTIL THE THREAT SUBSIDES.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EUREKA HAS ISSUED A COASTAL FLOOD
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 10 AM PST THIS
MORNING.

* COASTAL FLOODING...HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES WILL CAUSE MINOR
  FLOODING IN LOW LYING AREAS ALONG THE REDWOOD COAST. THE WATER
  LEVEL IS EXPECTED TO PEAK BETWEEN 8.8 AND 8.9 FEET ABOVE MLLW
  AT THE NORTH SPIT TIDE GAUGE.

* TIMING...HIGH TIDE IS AT 9:01 AM AT THE HUMBOLDT BAY NORTH SPIT
  TIDE GAUGE. FLOODING MAY BEGIN AN HOUR BEFORE OR CONTINUE FOR AN
  HOUR OR TWO AFTER HIGH TIDE.

* IMPACTS...LOW LYING AREAS WILL EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING
  INCLUDING...BUT NOT LIMITED TO...ROADWAYS IN KING SALMON AND
  THE ARCATA BOTTOMS SUCH AS JACKSON RANCH ROAD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
