THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

A WIND ADVISORY IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FOR STRONG GUSTY WINDS
LATE TONIGHT.

AN APPROACHING POTENT COLD FRONT WILL BRING STRONG GUSTY SOUTHERLY
WINDS AND PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN TO THE REGION TONIGHT INTO
SATURDAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

A WIND ADVISORY IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY MORNING. A POST
FRONTAL TROUGH WILL BRING THE THREAT OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS TO
THE REGION ON SATURDAY WITH THE POTENTIAL OF SMALL
HAIL...OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING AND GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS.

...VERY STRONG GUSTY WINDS FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY...

.A POTENT PACIFIC STORM WILL BRING VERY STRONG WINDS TO NW
CALIFORNIA TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT.
PEAK WINDS WILL OCCUR OVER THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS WITH ISOLATED
GUSTS POTENTIALLY REACHING AS HIGH AS 70 MPH. WINDS WILL TAPER
QUICKLY LATE SATURDAY MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON AS THE COLD FRONT
PASSES.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT SATURDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EUREKA HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT SATURDAY. THE WIND
ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING...THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

* WINDS...SUSTAINED SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 20
  TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH. THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN
  PEAKS AND COASTAL AREAS SUCH AS TRINIDAD AND CRESCENT CITY MAY
  SEE GUST TO 60 MPH OR HIGHER.

* IMPACTS...THESE WINDS WILL CAUSE BRANCHES TO FALL FROM TREES...
  LIKELY TOPPLING SOME TREES...AND CREATE SOME POWER OUTAGES.
  WINDS WILL ALSO CAUSE DIFFICULTY DRIVING...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
  PROFILE VEHICLES. STRONG GUSTS MAY CAUSE FENCES TO BLOW DOWN AND
  CAUSE DEBRIS TO FLY THROUGH THE AIR.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED
OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.
