THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

A HIGH WIND WARNING IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT.

A POTENT PACIFIC STORM WILL CONTINUE TO BRING STRONG GUSTY WINDS
THROUGH THIS MORNING. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED WITH THE
SHOWER ACTIVITY THIS MORNING. THESE HAVE THE CHANCE OF BRINGING
SMALL HAIL...GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS...AND OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING.
WATERSPOUTS GENERATED OFF THE COAST HAVE THE POSSIBILITY OF
COMING ASHORE TODAY DURING THE MORE VIGOROUS CONVECTION.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

A WET PATTERN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEK.

HUMBOLDT AND DEL NORTE COUNTY. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL OCCASIONAL
LIGHTNING AND GUSTY WINDS TO 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH THESE
SHOWERS.

.A POTENT PACIFIC STORM WILL BRING VERY STRONG WINDS TO NW
CALIFORNIA THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON. PEAK WINDS WILL OCCUR OVER
THE COASTAL MOUNTAINS WITH ISOLATED GUSTS POTENTIALLY REACHING AS
HIGH AS 75 MPH THIS MORNING. WINDS WILL TAPER QUICKLY THIS
AFTERNOON AS THE SYSTEM SHIFTS TO THE EAST.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT THIS
AFTERNOON...

* TIMING...THROUGH AFTERNOON.

* WINDS...SUSTAINED SOUTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 20
  TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 60 MPH. THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN
  PEAKS AND COASTAL AREAS SUCH AS TRINIDAD AND CRESCENT CITY MAY
  EXPERIENCE HIGHER GUSTS.

* IMPACTS...THESE WINDS WILL CAUSE BRANCHES TO FALL FROM TREES...
   LIKELY TOPPLING SOME TREES...AND CREATE SOME POWER OUTAGES.
  WINDS WILL ALSO CAUSE DIFFICULTY DRIVING...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH
  PROFILE VEHICLES. STRONG GUSTS MAY CAUSE FENCES TO BLOW DOWN
  AND CAUSE DEBRIS TO FLY THROUGH THE AIR.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED
OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH OR GUSTS
OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.
