...AIR QUALITY ALERT EXTENDED DUE TO SMOKE IMPACTS FROM WILDFIRES
THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District has
extended an air quality alert due to smoke impacts in San Luis Obispo
County through 11 AM PST Monday. Smoke from the from wildfires in
Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties is being transported into San Luis
Obispo County.

Exposure to particle pollution can cause serious health problems...
aggravate lung disease...cause asthma attacks and acute bronchitis...
and increase risk of respiratory infections.

Residents are advised to use caution as conditions warrant. People
with heart or lung disease should follow their doctors advice for
dealing with episodes of blowing dust.

Additionally...older adults and children should avoid prolonged
exposure...strenuous activity or heavy exertion...as conditions
dictate.

...HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT  WEST AND NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES OF
THE CENTRAL COAST THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

.Large and long period northwest swell over the coastal waters
will continue through Sunday morning. This will create high surf
on west and northwest facing beaches on the Central Coast through
Sunday morning. Surf is expected to peak at 10 to 15 feet today
and early tonight, then slowly subside late tonight and early
Sunday. Large breaking waves are possible near the entrance to
Morro Bay Harbor.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PST SUNDAY...

* SURF...Surf will peak at 10 to 15 feet today and early tonight,
  then slowly subside to 4 to 8 feet by mid morning Sunday.


* IMPACTS...Large, powerful and dangerous waves with strong
  currents will create an increased risk of drowning. Sneaker
  waves can suddenly wash over previously dry beaches and
  jetties. There will also be a high risk of life-threatening
  rip currents. Damaging breaking waves are possible near the
  entrance to Morro Bay harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Surf Advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area...producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught
in a rip current, relax and float. Don`t swim against the
current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If
unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
