...VERY WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA
THROUGH FRIDAY WITH POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS...

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT ALONG WITH WEAK ONSHORE FLOW WILL BRING AN
EXTENDED PERIOD OF VERY WARM TO HOT WEATHER TO SOUTHWEST
CALIFORNIA THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK. IT WILL BE A FEW DEGREES
WARMER TODAY THAN IT WAS ON TUESDAY...WITH TEMPERATURES
THURSDAY...DEEP MOISTURE AND VERY WEAK WINDS ALOFT WILL POSE A
HEIGHTENED RISK OF FLASH FLOODING...AND THAT THREAT COULD CONTINUE
THROUGH FRIDAY. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MAY BE NEEDED FOR MOUNRISING
WELL INTO THE 90S TO AROUND 100 DEGREES IN MANY VALLEYS LOCATIONS...
AT LOWER ELEVATIONS IN THE MOUNTAINS...AND IN THE ANTELOPE
VALLEY. IT WILL BECOME A BIT MORE HUMID AS WELL. THERE IS A SLIGHT
CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON IN THE MOUNTAINS OF LOS
ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES AND THE ANTELOPE VALLEY AS MONSOONAL
MOISTURE BEGINS TO CREEP INTO THE REGION.

THE CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL GRADUALLY OVERSPREAD
THE ENTIRE REGION VERY LATE TONIGHT AND THURSDAY...THEN CONTINUE
INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. SOME THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE HEAVY
DOWNPOURS. HOWEVER...MUCH OF THE TIME THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT
WILL LIKELY BE RAIN-FREE.

DUE TO THE INCREASED CLOUD COVER...HIGH TEMPERATURES ON THURSDAY
MAY BE SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN THOSE REACHED TODAY...BUT IT WILL BE
SIGNIFICANTLY MORE HUMID WHICH MAY MAKE IT FEEL MORE UNCOMFORTABLE.

THE COMBINATION OF HIGH TEMPERATURES AND INCREASED HUMIDITY WILL
CREATE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS FOR THOSE AT RISK OF HEAT-RELATED
ILLNESS. THIS HEAT MAY IMPACT PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS FOR THE
SPECIAL OLYMPIC WORLD GAMES...ESPECIALLY IN VALLEY VENUES.

ON FRIDAY...THE SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
CONTINUE...MAINLY ACROSS INTERIOR SECTIONS. IT WILL REMAIN RATHER
HUMID AND VERY WARM ACROSS THE REGION. SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM
ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO DECREASE THIS WEEKEND...AND SHOULD BE
CONFINED TO THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS
OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES AND THE ANTELOPE VALLEY.
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO BE A FEW DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL
SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.
