...GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS OVER SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA THROUGH
MONDAY...

.SANTA ANA WINDS HAVE BECOME WIDESPREAD OVER LOS ANGELES AND
VENTURA COUNTIES THIS MORNING. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED
TODAY BUT ADVISORY CONDITIONS WILL LIKELY PERSIST TONIGHT OVER AT
LEAST THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON. DURING
THE STRONGEST WINDS... HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS AS WELL AS
AREAS OF BLOWING DUST, DOWNED TREE BRANCHES AND POWER LINES ARE
POSSIBLE.

NORTHEAST WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS
AND VALLEYS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY...

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON FOR GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
THE VENTURA COUNTY COAST AND THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY COAST FROM
MALIBU TO HOLLYWOOD HILLS...

.RED FLAG CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF LOS ANGELES AND
VENTURA COUNTIES THROUGH MONDAY DUE TO THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY
SANTA ANA WINDS...HOT TEMPERATURES...VERY LOW HUMIDITIES...AND
EXCEPTIONALLY DRY FUELS.

THE SANTA ANA WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN AREAL COVERAGE
AND INTENSITY THIS MORNING WHEN THE OFFSHORE WINDS ARE EXPECTED
TO SPREAD ALL THE WAY TO THE COAST FROM VENTURA TO MALIBU. VERY
RAPID FIRE SPREAD AND EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR...INCLUDING LONG RANGE
SPOTTING...IS LIKELY FOR ANY NEW FIRE IGNITIONS DUE TO THESE
CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS AND THE EXCEPTIONALLY DRY FUELS.

GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS WILL CONTINUE INTO MONDAY BUT WIND GUSTS
ARE NOT EXPECTED TO BE AS STRONG AND WILL HAVE MORE OF AN EASTERLY
DIRECTION. CONTINUED VERY HOT AND DRY MONDAY WITH THE GUSTY WINDS
WILL LIKELY MAINTAIN THE CRITICAL RED FLAG CONDITIONS.

* WINDS...NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS INCREASING TO 15 TO 30 MPH WITH
  GUSTS TO 40 MPH...MAINLY FROM VENTURA TO MALIBU AND EXTENDING
  INTO THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS. STRONGEST
  DURING THE MID MORNING THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...LOWERING TO 5 TO 15 PERCENT DURING THE
  AFTERNOON.

* TEMPERATURES...HIGHS 90 TO 102 DEGREES. VERY WARM OVERNIGHT
  LOWS IN THE 70S IN FOOTHILLS AND WINDY AREAS.

* IMPACTS...IF FIRE IGNITION OCCURS THERE COULD BE VERY RAPID
  SPREAD OF WILDFIRE THAT WOULD LEAD TO A THREAT TO LIFE AND
  PROPERTY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
GUSTY WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND HOT TEMPERATURES WILL
CREATE EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.

PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN USING POTENTIAL FIRE IGNITION
SOURCES. PLEASE ADVISE THE APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS OR FIRE CREWS IN
