THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA.

AREAS OF DENSE FOG WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO ONE QUARTER MILE OR
LESS ACROSS COASTAL SECTIONS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY THROUGH MID
MORNING...WITH PATCHY DENSE FOG ACROSS THE SOUTH COAST OF SANTA
BARBARA COUNTY AND COASTAL VENTURA COUNTY.

DENSE FOG WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO ONE MILE OR LESS ACROSS
PORTIONS OF THE COASTAL WATERS TODAY.

HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT WEST AND NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES TODAY AND
TONIGHT. THERE WILL BE A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS ON AREA BEACHES
TODAY AND TONIGHT.

LOCALLY GUSTY NORTH WINDS WILL AFFECT THE MOUNTAINS...AND THE SOUTH
COAST OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS TONIGHT.

AREAS OF GUSTY NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS WILL AFFECT MUCH OF LOS
ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES SUNDAY THOUGH TUESDAY...WITH THE
STRONGEST WINDS LATE SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MID AFTERNOON MONDAY.

THERE WILL BE AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS
SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...WITH GUSTY WINDS AT TIMES. THIS WILL CREATE
HEIGHTENED FIRE DANGER...ESPECIALLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF LOS ANGELES
AND VENTURA COUNTIES.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST SUNDAY...

* SURF AND TIMING...SURF OF TO 7 TO 10 FEET WILL GRADUALLY SUBSIDE
  TODAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...THE LARGE SURF MAY CAUSE MINOR BEACH EROSION AND
  STRONG RIP CURRENTS THAT WILL CREATE A RISK OF OCEAN DROWNING.
  SNEAKER WAVES CAN SUDDENLY OVERRUN PREVIOUSLY DRY BEACHES AND
  JETTIES AROUND THE TIME OF HIGH TIDE.

* LOCATIONS...SURF WILL BE HIGHEST ON EXPOSED WEST AND NORTHWEST
  FACING BEACHES. LOCAL SETS TO 12 FEET ARE POSSIBLE NEAR
  VENTURA HARBOR.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF AND RIP CURRENTS WILL
MAKE SWIMMING AND ROCK JETTIES DANGEROUS.

REMEMBER...IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...SWIM PARALLEL TO SHORE
UNTIL YOU ARE FREE OF THE POWERFUL CURRENT. ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A
LIFEGUARD.

TUESDAY ACROSS SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...

AN UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM COMBINED WITH MODERATE
OFFSHORE FLOW NEAR THE SURFACE WILL BRING ANOTHER ROUND OF
RECORD HEAT WITH ELEVATED FIRE DANGER SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY
ACROSS SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA. THE GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS WILL
MOSTLY IMPACT VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES...WITH THE
STRONGEST WINDS LIKELY SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY. DURING
THIS TIME...WIND GUSTS BETWEEN 35 AND 50 MPH WILL BE COMMON
ACROSS WIND PRONE AREAS OF VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES...WITH
LOCAL GUSTS UP TO 60 MPH POSSIBLE IN FAVORED MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS.

FORECASTED HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THE MID
80S TO LOWER 90S ACROSS MANY PORTIONS OF THE COAST AND VALLEYS
IN VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTIES SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. THE
UNUSUAL FEBRUARY HEAT WAVE WILL MAKE SUNDAY`S LOS ANGELES MARATHON
EVEN MORE CHALLENGING WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES CLIMBING INTO THE
MID TO UPPER 80S BY AFTERNOON.

THE UNSUALLY HOT FEBRUARY TEMPERATURES WILL BRING AN INCREASED
RISK OF HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES FOR THE ELDERLY AND ANYONE
PERFORMING STRENUOUS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.
