ANTELOPE VALLEY. BOATERS SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOR AS GALE FORCE WIND
GUSTS ARE FORECAST THIS EVENING. A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL
CREATE HAZARDS FOR BEACHGOERS.

FORECAST SATURDAY MORNING. A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS WILL
CREATE HAZARDS FOR BEACHGOERS SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING
THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE VENTURA AND LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS ON
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

.A COMBINATION OF MODERATE PERIOD WEST TO NORTHWEST SWELL AND
LONG PERIOD SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE SWELL WILL BRING BUILDING SURF TO
AREA BEACHES THROUGH THE WEEKEND...ALONG WITH STRONG RIP
CURRENTS. NORTH OF POINT CONCEPTION...RISING SURF WILL AFFECT
SOUTHWEST AND WEST TO NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES. SOUTH OF POINT
CONCEPTION...THE LARGER SURF WILL BE ON SOUTH FACING BEACHES.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES/OXNARD HAS ISSUED
A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG
RIP CURRENTS...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
SUNDAY EVENING.

* HAZARDS...SURF BUILDING TO 3 TO 5 FEET SATURDAY...AND TO 3 TO 6
  FEET ON SUNDAY...WITH STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND LONGSHORE
  CURRENTS.

* IMPACTS...THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF OCEAN DROWNING. RIP
  CURRENTS CAN PULL SWIMMERS AND SURFERS OUT TO SEA. SNEAKER
  WAVES CAN SUDDENLY WASH PEOPLE OFF OF BEACHES AND ROCK JETTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS TO BEACH AND
SURF ZONE SAFETY ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. CAUTION SHOULD BE
USED WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER. STAY NEAR OCCUPIED LIFEGUARD
TOWERS AND NEVER SWIM ALONE. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT...SWIM
PARALLEL TO THE SHORE.
