...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY
AFTERNOON...

* HAZARDS...DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS AND SNEAKER WAVES ARE
  EXPECTED ON WEST FACING BEACHES DUE TO ELEVATED AND STRONG
  SURF OF 3 TO 6 FEET.

* IMPACTS...THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK FOR OCEAN DROWNING. RIP
  CURRENTS CAN PULL SWIMMERS AND SURFERS OUT TO SEA. SNEAKER
  WAVES CAN SUDDENLY WASH PEOPLE OFF OF BEACHES AND ROCK
  JETTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS SUCH AS RIP
CURRENTS...LONGSHORE CURRENTS...SNEAKER WAVES AND OTHER HAZARDS
CREATE LIFE-THREATENING CONDITIONS IN THE SURF ZONE. CAUTION
SHOULD BE USED WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER.

URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE

...Strong to locally damaging winds will affect much of Southwestern
California later this morning into Friday morning...

.Another round of very strong northwest to north is expected
to affect much of Southwestern California later this morning
into Friday morning. Winds will be strongest in and around the
Interstate 5 corridor this evening where gusts to between 70 and
80 mph are expected. Across the Santa Barbara County mountains
and adjacent south coast, in the Santa Clarita Valley, and in
the Santa Monica Mountains, damaging gusts of 60 to 65 mph are
expected. In most other coastal and valley areas, wind gusts
will reach 40 to 50 mph.

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 AM PDT
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
8 AM PDT Friday.

* Winds and Timing...West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 35 mph
  will develop early this afternoon, then continue into this
  evening, strongest near the coast. Areas of north winds 20 to
  30 mph with gusts to 45 mph are expected from this evening
  through early Friday morning, strongest below passes and
  canyons from Malibu to the Hollywood Hills and on the
  Westside of Los Angeles.

* Impacts...Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially for
  drivers of high profile vehicles. Major roads that will be
  affected include Pacific Coast Highway, the 405 freeway and
  Laurel and Coldwater Canyon Roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.
