Fire Weather Watch

URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOS ANGELES/OXNARD CA
957 AM PST SUN NOV 23 2014

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY
AFTERNOON FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY OVER MOST OF
LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES...

.UPDATES...EXPIRED RED FLAG WARNINGS OVER SANTA BARBARA COUNTY.
DELAYED START TIME OF FIRE WEATHER WATCHES TO 4 AM MONDAY.

THE NORTHEAST FLOW AND UPPER LEVEL SUPPORT FROM TODAY WILL
WEAKEN FURTHER TONIGHT INTO MONDAY...BUT REMAIN BREEZY IN THE
FAVORED LOCATIONS OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTIES. DRY AIR
ALOFT WILL DESCEND AS WELL BY MONDAY. THIS WILL LIKELY RESULT IN
CRITICAL CONDITIONS IN THE LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY
MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS...BUT DURATIONS MAY BE BRIEF...ESPECIALLY IN
THE VALLEYS. THE DECISION ON CONVERTING THE FIRE WEATHER WATCHES
TO RED FLAG WARNINGS WILL BE MADE THIS AFTERNOON.

COLDER AIR WILL PUSH INTO THE GREAT BASIN MONDAY NIGHT INTO
TUESDAY...RESULTING IN STRENGTHENING NORTHEAST FLOW INTO A
MODERATE SANTA ANA. THE LOW HUMIDITIES FROM MONDAY WILL CHANGE
LITTLE INTO TUESDAY...BUT TEMPERATURES WILL INCREASE. THIS WILL
LIKELY RESULT IN WIDESPREAD RED FLAG CONDITIONS OVER LOS ANGELES
AND VENTURA COUNTIES...INCLUDING THE COASTAL SECTIONS. SIMILAR
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY...AND THE
FIRE WEATHER WATCH WILL LIKELY BE EXTENDED.
