...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...

.A BUILDING WESTERLY SWELL WILL CREATE ELEVATED SURF ALONG
BEACHES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...ESPECIALLY WEST FACING BEACHES SOUTH
OF LA JOLLA. STRONG RIP CURRENTS ARE LIKELY...ESPECIALLY IN THE
LATE AFTERNOON WITH THE RECEDING TIDE.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM PST FRIDAY
THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

* SURF...3 TO 5 FEET WITH OCCASIONAL SETS TO 7 FEET ALONG WEST
  FACING BEACHES. HIGHEST SURF WILL BE IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY SOUTH
  OF LA JOLLA.

* TIMING...FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

* IMPACTS...STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS
  FOR INEXPERIENCED SWIMMERS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR ELEVATED SURF MEANS THAT WAVES WILL
BE HIGH ENOUGH TO CAUSE DANGER TO SWIMMERS IN THE WATER. ELEVATED
SURF ALSO FREQUENTLY RESULTS IN STRONG RIP CURRENTS WHICH CAN
DRAG PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE SHORE AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN DROWNING.
ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD.
