...HIGH ASTRONOMICAL TIDES AND ELEVATED SURF TO CREATE STRONG RIP
CURRENTS AND MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW...

.A LONG PERIOD WEST-NORTHWEST SWELL WILL CONTINUE ELEVATED SURF ALONG
EXPOSED WEST FACING BEACHES IN SAN DIEGO AND ORANGE COUNTIES
THROUGH MONDAY. ASTRONOMICAL HIGH TIDES ABOVE 7 FEET EACH
MORNING...COMBINED WITH THE ELEVATED SURF...MAY CAUSE MINOR TIDAL
OVERFLOW IN LOW-LYING BEACH AREAS THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING. STRONG
RIP CURRENTS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE THROUGH THE PERIOD. CONDITIONS WILL
IMPROVE BY MID-WEEK.

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING...

* SURF...4 TO 7 FEET ALONG EXPOSED WEST-FACING BEACHES THROUGH
  THIS AFTERNOON. 2 TO 5 FEET ELSEWHERE. SURF BEGINNING TO LOWER
  THIS AFTERNOON.

* LOCATIONS...HIGHEST SURF ALONG EXPOSED WEST-FACING BEACHES...
  ESPECIALLY NORTH OF NEWPORT BEACH IN ORANGE COUNTY AND SOUTH
  OF DEL MAR IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY.

* TIMING...SURF PEAKING THIS AFTERNOON...THEN SLOWLY LOWERING
  THROUGH TUESDAY. MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW EACH MORNING AND STRONG
  RIP CURRENTS THROUGH TUESDAY.

* TIDES...HIGH TIDES AROUND 7 FEET BETWEEN ABOUT 7 AM AND 9 AM
  EACH DAY.

* IMPACTS...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS WILL RESULT IN
  DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS. MINOR FLOODING OF LOW-LYING
  AREAS ALONG THE BEACH IS POSSIBLE...INCLUDING BEACH PARKING
  LOTS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS SUCH AS STRONG
RIP CURRENTS...ELEVATED SURF HEIGHTS...MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW...OR
LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE AT LOCAL BEACHES. OBEY POSTED WARNING
SIGNS AND FLAGS AND TALK TO A LIFEGUARD BEFORE SWIMMING. USE
CAUTION WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER AND ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A
LIFEGUARD.
