...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

A LONG PERIOD SOUTH-SOUTHWEST SWELL FROM 200 DEGREES WILL
GENERATE ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP CURRENTS THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
SWELL AND SURF WILL LOWER SLIGHTLY THURSDAY.

EVENING...

* WAVES AND SURF...3 TO 6 FT WITH SETS TO 7 FT ALONG SOUTHWEST
  FACING BEACHES FROM SOLANA BEACH NORTH THROUGH ORANGE COUNTY.

* TIMING...CONTUNUING THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

* IMPACTS...THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF OCEAN DROWNING. RIP
  CURRENTS CAN PULL SWIMMERS AND SURFERS OUT TO SEA. LARGE
  BREAKING WAVES CAN WASH PEOPLE OFF JETTIES AND ROCKS, AND
  CAPSIZE SMALL BOATS NEAR SHORE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT, RELAX AND
FLOAT. DON`T SWIM AGAINST THE CURRENT. IF ABLE, SWIM IN A
DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE
SHORE AND CALL OR WAVE FOR HELP.
