SAN DIEGO COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS-
114 PM PDT THU JUN 30 2016

...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY
EVENING...

* WAVES AND SURF...IN ORANGE COUNTY...SURF OF 3 TO 6 FEET WITH
  SETS TO 7 FEET ALONG SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES. IN SAN
  DIEGO COUNTY...SURF OF 3 TO 5 FEET WITH SETS TO 6 FEET NORTH OF
  CARLSBAD.

* TIMING...THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...STRONG RIP AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS WILL CREATE VERY
  HAZARDOUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS. RIP CURRENTS MAY PULL SWIMMERS
  OUT TO SEA. SNEAKER WAVES CAN SUDDENLY WASH PEOPLE OFF OF
  ROCKS AND JETTIES.

* OUTLOOK...ALTHOUGH SURF AND SWELL WILL GRADUALLY LOWER DURING
  THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND...RIP CURRENTS AND HAZARDOUS SWIMMING
  CONDITIONS MAY STILL BE A CONCERN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR RIP CURRENTS MEANS THAT CONDITIONS
ARE PRESENT TO SUPPORT A HEIGHTENED RISK OF STRONG RIP CURRENTS.
RIP CURRENTS ARE TYPICALLY MORE FREQUENT AND STRONGER IN THE
VICINITY OF JETTIES...INLETS...AND PIERS. SWIMMERS CAUGHT IN A RIP
CURRENT SHOULD SWIM PARALLEL TO THE COAST TO ESCAPE THE RIP
CURRENT BEFORE TRYING TO SWIM FOR SHORE. SWIMMERS SHOULD ALWAYS
SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD.
