  WITH LOCAL SETS TO 8 FEET IN ORANGE COUNTY.

* TIMING...THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING.

* IMPACTS...ELEVATED SURF AND STRONG RIP AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS
  WILL CREATE DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS AT THE BEACHES THE
  REST OF TODAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS SUCH AS STRONG
RIP CURRENTS...ELEVATED SURF HEIGHTS...MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW...OR
LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE AT LOCAL BEACHES. OBEY POSTED WARNING
SIGNS AND FLAGS AND TALK TO A LIFEGUARD BEFORE SWIMMING. USE
CAUTION WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER AND ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A
LIFEGUARD.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA...

.STRONG HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST...AND
SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT BASIN...WILL CONTINUE HOT
WEATHER...AND LOCALLY GUSTY WINDS INLAND THROUGH MONDAY. THE
WINDIEST AREAS WILL INCLUDE THE COASTAL MOUNTAIN FOOTHILLS...THE
SANTA ANA MOUNTAINS...AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE INLAND VALLEYS.
WINDS WILL WEAKEN SLIGHTLY ON MONDAY...MAINLY NORTH OF SAN DIEGO
COUNTY.

* IMPACTS...OVEREXPOSURE TO HEAT COULD LEAD TO HEAT ILLNESS
  ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE AT RISK...INCLUDING THE ELDERLY AND
  CHILDREN. PETS ARE ALSO AT RISK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE... RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING.  KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE.  WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.
