URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN DIEGO CA
932 PM PDT TUE SEP 30 2014

...HOT WEATHER FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

.A STRONG RIDGE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE COMBINED WITH
OFFSHORE FLOW WILL BRING HOT CONDITIONS TO THE LOWER SLOPES OF THE
MOUNTAINS...VALLEYS...AND TO WITHIN A FEW MILES INLAND OF THE
COAST FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL BE 10 TO 20
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...WITH SATURDAY LIKELY
BEING THE HOTTEST DAY. SLOW COOLING WILL BEGIN ALONG THE COAST ON
SUNDAY WITH HOT CONDITIONS CONTINUING INLAND. ADDITIONAL COOLING WILL
OCCUR EARLY NEXT WEEK AS THE RIDGE CONTINUES TO SLOWLY WEAKEN.

SATURDAY...

* HIGH TEMPERATURES...ORANGE COUNTY COASTAL AREAS EXCLUDING
  BEACHES...95 TO 102 DEGREES. SAN DIEGO COUNTY COASTAL AREAS
  EXCLUDING BEACHES...90 TO 95 DEGREES. BEACHES OF ORANGE AND SAN
  DIEGO COUNTIES...80 TO 90 DEGREES.

* TIMING...FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS...HEAT CAN BE STRESSFUL TO ANIMALS AND
  HUMANS...MAKING IT HARD FOR THE BODY TO ACCLIMATE AND REMAIN
  HYDRATED. WITHOUT PRECAUTIONS EVEN HEALTHY ADULTS COULD
  EXPERIENCE HEAT STRESS AND ILLNESS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE... RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING.  KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE.  WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION.   HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY - CALL 911.
