...HEAT WAVE CONTINUES FOR INLAND AREAS THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

.A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRING VERY HOT WEATHER TO
INLAND LOCATIONS THROUGH THE WEEKEND. COOLER WEATHER WILL ARRIVE
WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS SUNDAY AND IN ALL AREAS BY MONDAY.

  COACHELLA VALLEY AND ANZA BORREGO DESERT: 114 TO 117...
  HIGH DESERTS: 105 TO 110...
  SAN DIEGO VALLEYS: 100 TO 105...
  MOUNTAINS BELOW 5000 FEET: 95 TO 100.

* IMPACTS...OVER EXPOSURE TO HEAT COULD LEAD TO HEAT ILLNESS
  ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE AT RISK...INCLUDING THE ELDERLY AND
  CHILDREN. PETS ARE ALSO AT RISK. REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR
  BACKSEAT FOR PEOPLE AND PETS!!

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE... RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING.  KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE.  WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE
IS AN EMERGENCY - CALL 9 1 1.
