...HEAT ADVISORY FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...

.HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL BRING WARMING ACROSS SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA THROUGH FRIDAY. THE GREATEST WARMING WILL BE IN THE
INLAND AREAS. THURSDAY IS EXPECTED TO BE THE WARMEST DAY THIS
WEEK...WITH FRIDAY NEARLY AS WARM.

PDT FRIDAY...

* TEMPERATURE...111 TO 116 IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY AND SAN DIEGO
  COUNTY DESERTS. 100 TO 106 IN THE INLAND EMPIRE...AND 93 TO
  105 IN THE SAN DIEGO...RIVERSIDE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
  MOUNTAINS.

* IMPACTS...VERY HIGH TEMPERATURES CAN BE STRESSFUL TO ANIMALS AND
  HUMANS...MAKING IT HARD FOR THE BODY TO ACCLIMATE AND REMAIN
  HYDRATED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN
POSSIBLE, RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT
STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND AVOID CAFFEINATED AND
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK...THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND
HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS
IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY
HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE IS
AN EMERGENCY - CALL 9 1 1.
