...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 11 AM PDT SATURDAY...

* SNOW AND ELEVATION...4 TO 8 INCHES FROM 6000 TO 8000 FEET. 6 TO
15 INCHES ABOVE 8000 FEET.

* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE...YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK...INCLUDING TUOLUMNE
MEADOWS AND TIOGA PASS AS WELL AS KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK AND
HUNTINGTON LAKE.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH
THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL WILL END
LATE SATURDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...THIS IS THE FIRST SIGNIFICANT SNOW EXPECTED FOR THE
SEASON. THE WEATHER WILL TRANSITION FROM RELATIVELY WARM AND DRY
TO COLD AND SNOWY VERY QUICKLY THIS AFTERNOON. ANYONE WITH
OUTDOOR PLANS IN THE MOUNTAINS SHOULD PLAN AHEAD FOR ADVERSE
WEATHER CONDITIONS. THIS MAY INCLUDE DELAYING OR CANCELING
TRAVEL PLANS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW
ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN
EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...
