Moisture wrapping around Monday`s storm will continue bring snow to the northern and portions of the central Colorado mountains today. The forecast calls for an additional 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts above treeline. Meanwhile, strong and gusty westerly winds will develop over the area this morning resulting in gusts as high as 45 to 55 mph for much of the region through this evening. Finally, sub-freezing temperatures are possible for the lower valleys where vegetation is susceptible to damage late tonight. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Cool and unsettled weather will linger through the remainder of the week, with a series of disturbances keeping chances of light mountain showers in the forecast most afternoons. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected today or tonight, however spotters are encouraged to report excessive wind or any observed wind related damage to the National Weather Service in Grand Junction. $$
