Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 611 AM EDT Sat May 4 2024 DCZ001-VAZ054-041200- /O.CON.KLWX.CF.Y.0053.000000T0000Z-240504T1200Z/ District of Columbia-Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria- 611 AM EDT Sat May 4 2024 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, Arlington County, and the City of Alexandria. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT this morning, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Road and near the Tidal Basin. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one to one and a half feet above normal. The next high tide at Alexandria is at 6:02 PM and 6:27 AM. The next high tide at Washington Channel is at 5:44 PM and 6:09 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
