This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Northeast Florida,
Southeast Georgia and the Adjacent Coastal Waters.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight...

Coastal Flood Warning for St Johns river basin and its
tributaries.

High risk for rip currents at area beaches.

Small craft advisory outer waters this morning.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday...

High risk for rip currents at area beaches Saturday.

Coastal flooding near times of high tide may continue along the
St Johns river and its tributaries into the weekend.

A line of strong to severe storms is possible late Monday into
Tuesday, as a cold front sweeps through.

Spotter activation will not be needed.

...HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

* COASTAL FLOODING...MODERATE TIDAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED AROUND
  TIMES OF HIGH TIDE WITHIN THE ST. JOHNS RIVER BASIN AND ITS
  TRIBUTARIES. MINOR COASTAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG AREA
  BEACHES AND WITHIN COASTAL ESTUARIES.

* TIMING...ELEVATED WATER LEVELS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST
  TONIGHT AND LIKELY THROUGH THE WEEKEND ALONG THE ST JOHNS
  RIVER. HIGH RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS THROUGH SATURDAY.

* IMPACTS...RIVER AND CREEK FLOODING AROUND THE TIMES OF HIGH
  TIDE WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING OF MAINLY PARKS, CAMPGROUNDS,
  DOCKS AND BOAT RAMPS AND ALONG SOME AREA ATLANTIC BEACHES.
  STRONG RIP CURRENTS ARE EXPECTED AT AREA BEACHES AS WELL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR
IMMINENT. COASTAL RESIDENTS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD BE ALERT
FOR RISING WATER, AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROTECT LIFE AND
PROPERTY.

RIP CURRENTS WILL BE LIFE THREATENING.

RIP CURRENTS ARE POWERFUL CHANNELS OF WATER FLOWING QUICKLY AWAY
FROM SHORE, WHICH OCCUR MOST OFTEN AT LOW SPOTS OR BREAKS IN THE
SANDBAR AND IN THE VICINITY OF STRUCTURES SUCH AS GROINS, JETTIES
AND PIERS. HEED THE ADVICE OF LIFEGUARDS AND THE BEACH PATROL.
PAY ATTENTION TO FLAGS AND POSTED SIGNS.

SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT REMAIN CALM.
DON`T FIGHT THE CURRENT. SWIM IN A DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE
SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE SHORE AND CALL OR WAVE
FOR HELP. IF TIRED, FLOAT OR TREAD WATER UNTIL OUT OF THE RIP
CURRENT.
