THE LATEST FORECAST FOR TROPICAL STORM GUILLERMO CONTINUES TO
BRING THE SYSTEM OVER THE ISLAND CHAIN LATER THIS WEEK. GUILLERMO
IS EXPECTED TO BE MOVING STEADILY TOWARD THE WEST NORTHWEST AS IT
PASSES ACROSS THE ISLAND CHAIN. ABUNDANT TROPICAL MOISTURE DRAWN
INTO THE CIRCULATION WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINFALL
AND FLASH FLOODING ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.

THE DETAILS ON THE TIMING...LOCATION AND AMOUNT OF RAINFALL
REMAIN UNCERTAIN...AND ARE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE EVENTUAL TRACK
OF GUILLERMO. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR LOCAL

KAHOOLAWE...MAUI...THE BIG ISLAND.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE
POSSIBLE WITHIN THE NEXT 48 HOURS SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE SPECIFIED
AREAS.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF THE
BIG ISLAND NOW THROUGH 6 PM HST TUESDAY.

NEAR LATITUDE 18.1N...LONGITUDE 147.4W...OR ABOUT 515 MILES EAST
OF HILO OR ABOUT 715 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF HONOLULU. TROPICAL
STORM GUILLERMO IS MOVING NORTHWEST AT 10 MPH. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS ARE NEAR 65 MPH.
