This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area for freezing
rain and ice accumulations through this morning. Please refer to
the National Weather Service website at weather.gov/desmoines for
further details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

There is another chance for freezing rain Thursday afternoon into
Thursday night across central and southern Iowa. Light ice
accumulations will be possible.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be needed, however icing reports and
reports any storm related damage would be appreciated.

...Freezing Rain and Drizzle to Persist This Morning...

.While the bulk of the freezing rain is currently passing through
central Iowa, additional freezing rain and drizzle is expected
into the morning. However, as drier air moves into the state this
morning, precipitation will end from northwest to southeast
through the morning.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST
TODAY...


* WHAT...Freezing rain or freezing drizzle. Light snow in far
  northwest areas. Additional icing generally less than a tenth of
  an inch, however one to two tenths still expected southeast of a
  Waterloo to Newton to Lamoni line.

* WHERE...Much of central Iowa.

* WHEN...Until noon CST today.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The ice will result in difficult travel
  conditions, including during the morning commute. Be prepared
  for reduced visibilities at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling
