URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL TO CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON...

SNOW HAS INCREASED ACROSS THE AREA AS THE MAIN PART OF THE STORM
IS NOW CROSSING IOWA. LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THIS
MORNING WITH UP TO SEVERAL ADDITIONAL INCHES OF SNOWFALL ALONG
WITH BRISK SOUTHEAST WINDS. THIS WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL AT
TIMES THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS WITH SLOWLY IMPROVING CONDITIONS

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS
EVENING...

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS
  MUCH OF THE AREA THIS MORNING. SNOWFALL RATES OF UP TO ONE INCH
  PER HOUR WILL OCCUR WITH SOME OF THE HEAVIER SNOW BANDS. BLOWING
  AND DRIFTING SNOW IS EXPECTED WITH BRISK SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS.

* STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...2 TO 5 INCHES WITH LOCALLY
  HIGHER AMOUNTS BY LATE AFTERNOON.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...SOUTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25
  MPH THROUGH NOON. VISIBILITIES AS LOW AS ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES
  DUE TO BLOWING SNOW AND FALLING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO THE
  COMBINATION OF SNOW AND WIND WHICH WILL PRODUCE SLICK...SNOW
  COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
