* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWESTERN LA SALLE COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
  SOUTHWESTERN DE KALB COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
  SOUTHERN LEE COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...

* UNTIL 530 PM CDT TUESDAY

* AREAS OF FLOODING HAVE BEEN REPORTED THIS MORNING DUE TO HEAVY
  RAINFALL OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES
  FELL ACROSS MUCH OF THE WARNED AREA OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS.
  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TODAY AND RUNOFF FROM THIS WILL
  CONTINUE TO RESULT IN AREAL FLOODING.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
  MENDOTA...SHABBONA...WALTON...AMBOY...EARLVILLE...WATERMAN...
  LELAND...PAW PAW...SUBLETTE...COMPTON...TROY GROVE...
  WEST BROOKLYN AND HARMON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
  SIGNIFICANT THUNDERSTORM RISK.
  ELEVATED FLOODING RISK.
  ELEVATED EARLY MORNING FOG RISK.

DISCUSSION:

SEVERAL WAVES OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY AS A
SERIES OF SHORTWAVE DISTURBANCES MOVE THROUGH THE REGION. WITH A MOIST
AIRMASS IN PLACE, LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED. GUSTY WINDS
ARE ALSO POSSIBLE, BUT GUSTS SHOULD REMAIN LESS THAN 40 MPH.

IN ADDITION...FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG PORTIONS OF THE ILLINOIS
AND KANKAKEE RIVERS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

WEDNESDAY...
  LIMITED THUNDERSTORM RISK.
  HIGH SWIM RISK.
THURSDAY...
  HIGH SWIM RISK.
SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY...
  LIMITED THUNDERSTORM RISK.

IN ADDITION...FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ALONG PORTIONS OF THE ILLINOIS
AND KANKAKEE RIVERS.

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
