...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR CENTRAL COOK AND DUPAGE
COUNTIES UNTIL 230 PM CDT...

AT 1117 AM CDT...FLOODING CONTINUED ACROSS THE WARNED AREA WITH
NUMEROUS COMMUNITIES UNDER SEVERAL FEET OF WATER. OVERNIGHT AND THIS
MORNING...RADAR ESTIMATES AND MEASURED RAINFALL REPORTS INDICATE
THAT UP TO AROUND FIVE INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
TOTALS.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING FLOODING INCLUDE...ADDISON...
HINSDALE...ELMHURST...WOOD DALE...BURBANK...OAK LAWN...BEDFORD
PARK...BRIDGEVIEW...ALONG WITH OTHER LOCATIONS ALONG THE SALT CREEK
AND ADDISON CREEK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS...URBAN AREAS...
HIGHWAYS...UNDERPASSES AND LOW LYING AREAS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

   SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME COULD PRODUCE:
    TORRENTIAL RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING.
    FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
    WIND GUSTS OVER 30 MPH.

   AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

   THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 WILL END
   THIS MORNING. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS
   AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...THOUGH CONFIDENCE REGARDING COVERAGE
   AND TIMING IS SOMEWHAT UNCERTAIN.

   DISCUSSION:

   VERY WARM AND HUMID AIR WILL REMAIN IN PLACE AS AN UPPER LEVEL
   RIDGE SLOWLY BUILDS ACROSS THE REGION. THUNDERSTORMS ARE
   POSSIBLE LATER TODAY WITH A SLIGHTLY BETTER CHANCE TONIGHT. THE
   MAIN THREAT FROM THESE STORMS WILL BE TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WHICH
   MAY LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. WITH THE SOIL SATURATED IN MANY
   AREAS...ANY ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN MAY QUICKLY LEAD TO FLASH
   FLOODING. RAINFALL RATES WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP
   COULD REACH 2 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT...
SUNDAY AFTERNOON...THEN MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY. HEAVY RAIN AND
FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT
DEVELOP.

HEAT INDICES COULD EXCEED 100 DEGREES SUNDAY AND MONDAY
AFTERNOONS.

.TORRENTIAL RAINFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ACROSS NORTHEAST ILLINOIS IS
RESULTING IN RISES ON PORTIONS OF THE DES PLAINES AND DU PAGE
RIVERS.

  THE DES PLAINES RIVER AT RIVERSIDE.
* FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO THIS EVENING.
* AT  745 AM FRIDAY THE STAGE WAS 6.5 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 7.0 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FORECAST...RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE BY THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE TO
  RISE TO NEAR 7.1 FEET BY THIS AFTERNOON.
* IMPACT...AT 7.5 FEET...PARK AREAS ARE INUNDATED NEAR SALT CREEK.
