THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

  THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY BE CAPABLE OF:
   WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

  SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TONIGHT. SOME OF
  THE STORMS THROUGH THIS EVENING ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS MAY BE
  CAPABLE OF BRIEF STRONG WINDS.

  DISCUSSION:

  A WARM FRONT IS LIFTING NORTH ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND FAR
  NORTHWEST INDIANA THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING. STORMS SOUTH OF
  OR CROSSING THIS BOUNDARY MAY HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR BRIEF
  GUSTY WINDS. IN NORTHWEST INDIANA...WINDS ARE NOT AS STRONG
  ALOFT SO THIS POSSIBILITY IS MAINLY IN NORTHERN ILLINOIS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

WIND GUSTS TO 40 TO 45 MPH ARE EXPECTED MONDAY MORNING AND EARLY
AFTERNOON...WITH POTENTIAL FOR A BRIEF PERIOD OF GUSTS 50 MPH OR
STRONGER.

THERE IS A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY MORNING. THERE WILL BE
PERIODIC CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH
WEDNESDAY...THEN AGAIN THURSDAY NIGHT INTO NEXT WEEKEND.

...STRONG WINDS ON MEMORIAL DAY...

SOUTHWEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO RAPIDLY INCREASE ACROSS NORTHERN
ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA AFTER DAYBREAK ON MEMORIAL DAY.
SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH ARE FORECAST WITH GUSTS OF 40 TO
45 MPH. THERE IS SOME POTENTIAL FOR 50 MPH OR EVEN HIGHER
GUSTS BETWEEN 9 AM AND 2 PM. THE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY EASE DURING
THE MID TO LATE AFTERNOON.

THOSE WITH OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES SCHEDULED ON MEMORIAL DAY SHOULD
PLAN FOR THESE STRONG WINDS.
