  previous values.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 20.2 feet by
  Sunday afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Flooding affects large areas near the river
  with numerous homes impacted.

  continue to rise to near 17.2 feet by Sunday evening.The river will
  fall below flood stage by Monday evening.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
  Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
      Elevated Tornado Risk Along and West of I-39.
      Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
      Significant Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 70
MPH.
  Significant Flooding Risk.
  Significant Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Severe thunderstorms expected early this evening through late
evening across the entire outlook area, with damaging winds the
primary severe weather threat. In addition, there is an isolated
tornado threat, mainly along and west of I-39. Also, torrential
rainfall will be possible with any storm. Behind the initial
complex of storms, additional heavy rain producing thunderstorms
will likely develop overnight, especially across northern
Illinois. Heaviest rainfall amounts, of 1 to 3 inches or more,
are expected to occur primarily over northern Illinois north of
Interstate 80.

In addition, flooding will continue along portions of the Des
Plaines, Fox, and Kishwaukee rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

  Limited Flooding Risk.
  Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.
Sunday...
  Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.

In addition, flooding will continue along portions of the Des
Plaines, Fox, Kishwaukee, Rock, and Pecatonica rivers.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of north central Illinois and northeast Illinois,
  including the following areas, in north central Illinois,
  Boone, De Kalb, La Salle, Lee, Ogle, and Winnebago. In
  northeast Illinois, Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake
  IL, McHenry, and Will.

* Through Saturday morning.

* Multiple rounds of thunderstorms producing torrential rainfall
  with rates up to two inches per hour are likely to move across
  portions of north central and northeast Illinois late this
  afternoon through early Saturday morning.

* Additional heavy rainfall could exacerbate flooding already
  occurring across portions of northern Illinois...producing new
  rises on area rivers and creeks. With the ground already
  saturated in many areas...heavy rainfall will likely quickly
  produce runoff and produce flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
