TODAY...

* TIMING...FREEZING RAIN...MIXED WITH SLEET... WILL SPREAD
  NORTHEAST THIS MORNING. LIGHT GLAZING FROM FREEZING RAIN IS
  MOST LIKELY ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE CHICAGO METRO
  AREA...PRIMARILY NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 88 CORRIDOR.
  PRECIPITATION SHOULD TRANSITION TO ALL RAIN BY AROUND NOON.

* MAIN IMPACT...ICE ACCUMULATION OF LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH.

* OTHER IMPACTS...ACCUMULATION OF ICE ON UNTREATED ROADS WILL MAKE
  TRAVEL HAZARDOUS DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR

  SIGNIFICANT FOG RISK.
  ELEVATED ICE ACCUMULATION RISK.
  LIMITED SLEET RISK.

DISCUSSION:

LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND IS LIKELY THIS MORNING ACROSS NORTH
CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA THIS MORNING. SLEET MAY MIX IN FOR A TIME AS WELL.
HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS ON SOME ROADS ARE LIKELY...ESPECIALLY
ON UNTREATED SURFACES.

THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THIS
EVENING. SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED.

AREAS OF FOG ARE LIKELY DURING THE DAY MAINLY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE
80...AND THEN AREA WIDE OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY TUESDAY
MORNING. FOG MAY BE LOCALLY DENSE AT TIMES.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

  ELEVATED FOG RISK.
