THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
ILLINOIS...EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG A WARM FRONT TODAY
AND INTO TONIGHT AS THE WARM FRONT MOVES NORTHEAST THROUGH THE
AREA. AT THIS TIME...SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED WITH ANY OF
THESE STORMS.

WARM TEMPERATURES IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 80S WILL COMBINE WITH
HIGHER DEWPOINTS TO PRODUCE HEAT INDEX VALUES IN THE MIDDLE TO
UPPER 90S BY THIS AFTERNOON.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE AGAIN TOMORROW AND SATURDAY...
MAINLY ALONG AND NORTHEAST OF I-74. PEAK HEAT INDEX VALUES OF
AROUND 100 ARE LIKELY FROM FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

...HIGH HEAT INDICES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE WEEKEND...

WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AS A
WARM FRONT LIFTS NORTHEAST ACROSS CENTRAL ILLINOIS. THESE WARMER
TEMPERATURES WILL COMBINE WITH HIGHER DEWPOINTS TO CREATE HEAT
INDEX VALUES IN THE MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S BY THIS AFTERNOON. BY THIS
WEEKEND...TEMPERATURES WILL HAVE CLIMBED INTO THE LOWER TO MIDDLE
90S AND SURFACE DEWPOINTS WILL BE IN THE LOWER 70S. THIS WILL
PRODUCE HIGHER HEAT INDEX VALUES OF AROUND 100 FOR FRIDAY THROUGH
SUNDAY.

THIS WILL BE THE FIRST TIME THIS SUMMER THAT HEAT INDEX READINGS
WILL BE AT THIS LEVEL AND ALSO FOR A DURATION OF OVER TWO DAYS.
RESIDENTS ARE THEREFORE URGED TO USE CAUTION IF OUTSIDE FOR AN
EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS AND TAKE FREQUENT
BREAKS SO AS NOT TO BECOME OVERHEATED.
