  NORTHERN JERSEY COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS...
  NORTHWESTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
  SOUTHERN GREENE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS...

* AT 843 AM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED
  FLOODING OCCURRING ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. SHERIFF`S DEPARTMENTS
  ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA ARE REPORTING NUMEROUS ROAD CLOSURES IN
  PRIMARILY IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS THAT ARE NORMALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO
  FLOODING. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE MOVING INTO THE AREA
  TODAY SO FLOODING IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE AND POSSIBLY WORSEN.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING INCLUDE...
  CARLINVILLE...ELSBERRY...JERSEYVILLE...TROY...CARROLLTON...DAVIS...
  FARMERSVILLE...GIRARD...GREENFIELD...HARDIN...KEMPER...MOSCOW
  MILLS...OLD KANE...RAYMOND...SHIPMAN...WHITE OAK AND WINFIELD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE
ELEVATED OR PONDING OF WATER IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE MINOR FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...AS WELL AS FARMLAND ALONG THE
BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT OR
IN A VEHICLE.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FLOOD WATERS. ONLY A FEW INCHES OF
RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN QUICKLY CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE.

  IL. IN MISSOURI...AUDRAIN MO...BOONE MO...CALLAWAY MO...COLE
  MO...GASCONADE MO...KNOX MO...LEWIS MO...LINCOLN MO...MARION
  MO...MONITEAU MO...MONROE MO...MONTGOMERY MO...OSAGE MO...
  PIKE MO...RALLS MO...SHELBY MO AND WARREN MO.

* THROUGH THIS EVENING

* HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TO COME IN WAVES OF THUNDERSTORMS TODAY
  AND INTO TONIGHT. RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 3 INCHES WITH
  LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE.

* HEAVY RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN FLOODING OF LOW LYING OR POOR
  DRAINAGE AREAS...AND ULTIMATELY DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING ON
  SMALLER CREEKS AND STREAMS. SIGNIFICANT RISES ON LARGER
  STREAMS AND RIVERS WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT FLASH FLOODING IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT
IMMINENT IN THE WATCH AREA. PEOPLE IN THE WATCH AREA SHOULD BE
AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLASH FLOODING.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE TODAY AND TONIGHT ACROSS THE
REGION. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WIND GUSTS ARE THE PRIMARY THREATS.

HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOODING ARE ALSO POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT ACROSS
PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST MISSOURI AS WELL AS WEST CENTRAL
AND SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT...PLEASE
REFER TO THE WATCH PRODUCT FOR FURTHER DETAILS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY
