.This Flood Warning is a result of heavy rainfall across the basin
last week...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The National Weather Service will monitor this developing
situation and issue follow up statements as conditions or forecasts
change.

Safety message:  Never drive cars, trucks, or sport utility vehicles
through flooded areas.  The water may be too deep to allow for safe
passage.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Mississippi River at Chester
* until Saturday afternoon.
* At 10:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 26.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by this afternoon
  and to crest near 27.7 feet by tomorrow early afternoon. The river
  will fall below flood stage by Friday early afternoon.
* Impact:  At 28.0 feet...Unleveed islands near Chester and the prison
  farm floods.
* Impact:  At 27.0 feet...Flood Stage.  Unprotected farmland on right
  bank begins to flood.

...The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky has issued a
flood warning for the following rivers in Illinois...Missouri...

  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Alexander...
  Jackson...Union...Cape Girardeau...Perry and Scott Counties

.Heavy rainfall over southeast Missouri last week has resulted in river
levels rising along the Mississippi River. Minor flooding is forecast
to develop at Cape Girardeau by tomorrow morning and continue into
later this week.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

  the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau.
* from Wednesday morning to late Friday night.
* At 10:30 AM Tuesday the stage was 30.8 feet.
* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and
  continue to rise to near 32.5 feet by Thursday morning. The river
  will fall below flood stage by Friday before midnight.
* Impact...At 32.0 Feet...Minor flooding occurs.  The Mississippi
  River backs into several creeks producing flooding.
