...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Missouri...Kentucky...

  Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau...Thebes and New Madrid

.Both Cape Girardeau and Thebes will continue to slowly fall. New
Madrid is forecast to crest at 36.5 feet on Wednesday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* Flood Stage is 32.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will fall to a stage of 42.2 feet on Monday morning.
* Impact...At 43.0 Feet...The flood gate on North Main Street closes.

It is forecast to fall below flood stage Friday afternoon.

ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA...WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

PATCHY FOG WILL CONTINUE EARLY THIS MORNING. VISIBILITY WILL BE
LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE IN SPOTS...MAINLY IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
AND SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS.

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON IN SOUTHWEST
INDIANA AND THE PENNYRILE REGION OF WESTERN KENTUCKY. ANY STORMS
MAY CONTAIN HEAVY RAIN AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.

MAJOR FLOODING CONTINUES ON PARTS OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER...WITH
MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING ON SEVERAL OTHER RIVERS. REFER TO FLOOD
STATEMENTS FOR DETAILS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE ENTIRE PERIOD. THE
BEST CHANCE OF STORMS IS TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...WHEN A COLD
FRONT WILL STALL OVER THE LOWER OHIO VALLEY. LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL WILL BE THE PRIMARY HAZARD...BUT A FEW DAMAGING WIND
GUSTS ARE POSSIBLE.
