Localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on area rivers.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday Night...
  Elevated Fog Risk.
  Limited Ice Accumulation Risk near the Wisconsin border.
Sunday...
  Elevated Fog Risk.

In addition, localized ice jam flooding will remain a threat on
area rivers.

...The Flood Advisory continues for the Kankakee River...

  Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Lake and Newton Counties

.Ice jams can result in rapid fluctuations in water levels with
little or no warning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...River levels may fluctuate rapidly due to ice with
little or no warning. Residents in low lying flood prone areas should
remain alert for possible flooding due to ice jams. Ice jam flooding
can be very localized and not affect all locations along the river as
in a typical river flood.

The Flood Advisory is extended for
  The Kankakee River at Shelby
* until Friday afternoon.
* At 745 PM Thursday the stage was 8.8 feet and was ice affected.
* Action stage is 8.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fluctuate around 8.8 feet tonight.
  Ice jams can result in rapid rises in water levels with little or no
  warning.
* Impact...Ice jam flooding can be very localized and not affect all
  locations along the river. Residents in low lying flood prone areas
  should remain alert for possible flooding due to ice jams.
