THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN INDIANA
AND SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WITH AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW
WILL DEVELOP TODAY AND CONTINUE TONIGHT. ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2
INCHES ARE POSSIBLE TODAY AND ANOTHER 2 TO 4 INCHES TONIGHT.

NORTHWEST WINDS BETWEEN 15 AND 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH CAN BE
EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. THIS WILL CREATE WIND CHILLS
BETWEEN ZERO AND 5 ABOVE THIS AFTERNOON AND BETWEEN ZERO AND 10
BELOW ZERO TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY

LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL BEGIN TO DIMINISH LATE SATURDAY.
ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE. WIND CHILLS
WILL REMAIN BETWEEN ZERO AND 10 BELOW ZERO INTO SUNDAY MORNING.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST /3 PM

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

 * SNOW ALONG AN ARCTIC FRONT WAS OVERSPREADING THE AREA FROM
   NORTH TO SOUTH LATE THIS MORNING AND WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS
   AFTERNOON. THERE MAY BE A LULL IN THE SNOW MID TO LATE
   AFTERNOON BEFORE HEAVIER LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS DEVELOP THIS
   EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

 * INCREASING NORTHWEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO CAUSE AREAS OF
   BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

 * TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE HIGHLY VARIABLE...GENERALLY
   RANGING BETWEEN 3 AND 8 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
   POSSIBLE ALONG AND NORTH OF THE INDIANA TOLL ROAD.

 * WIND CHILLS WILL FALL TO AS LOW AS 5 BELOW TO 10 BELOW
   TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING.

IMPACTS...

 * SNOW COVERED SLICK ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITIES DUE TO FALLING
   AND BLOWING SNOW WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

 * FROSTBITE WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR ANYONE WHO IS OUTSIDE FOR
   PROLONGED PERIODS TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW MEANS THAT
VISIBILITIES WILL BE LIMITED DUE TO A COMBINATION OF FALLING AND
BLOWING SNOW. USE CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING... ESPECIALLY IN OPEN
AREAS.
