White River from Edwardsport southward to Hazleton. Wabash River from Lafayette southward to Mount Carmel. .Main stems rivers in central and southern Indiana continue to work at emptying last week`s copious rainfall. Flooding continues on the Wabash River from Lafayette to Mount Carmel, and on the White River south of Newberry. Flooding ended at Elliston and Newberry on the White River earlier today. Flooding will last as long as mid week next week. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over higher ground. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
