FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KENTUCKY

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Kentucky...Illinois...Missouri...

  Ohio River at Owensboro...Newburgh Dam...Evansville...Mount Vernon
  ...J.T. Myers Dam...Shawneetown...Golconda...Paducah...Brookport
  Dam...Grand Chain Dam and Cairo.

.Water levels continue to slowly rise along several portions of the
lower Ohio River with minor to moderate flood conditions expected
through the weekend. Crests are expected by early next week, but
the expected rainfall over the weekend may change the timing and
crest levels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for
  the Ohio River at Newburgh Dam
* until Thursday afternoon.
* At  8:00 PM Friday the stage was 44.7 feet.
* Flood Stage is 38.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 44.8 feet by
  early Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage
  Thursday morning.
* Impact...At 46.0 Feet...Highway 662 near the old Lock and Dam 47
  begins to flood. This is approximately 1/2 mile downstream from the
  current lock and dam.

* from late tonight to Tuesday evening.
* At  8:00 PM Friday the stage was 41.7 feet.
* Flood Stage is 42.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by after midnight tonight
  and continue to rise to near 42.3 feet by Monday morning. The
  river will fall below flood stage by Tuesday afternoon.
* Impact...At 42.0 Feet...The river is 3300 feet wide.
