SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES...CONTINUES OVER THE TACONICS...AND WESTERN
NEW ENGLAND. SNOWFALL RATES OF AROUND A HALF INCH PER HOUR CAN BE
EXPECTED WITH LOCALIZED BANDS OF HEAVY SNOW YIELDING BRIEF SNOW
BURSTS NEAR 2 INCHES PER HOUR...AND NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS. AN
ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE THROUGH 2 AM. THIS
SNOW WILL BE A DRYER AND FLUFFIER SNOW. AFTER 2 AM...LIGHT SNOW
CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH THE REST OF THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WITH
LITTLE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION.

SNOW COVERED ROADWAYS WILL CAUSE SLIPPERY DRIVING CONDITIONS
ACCOMPANIED BY POOR VISIBILITIES. UNLESS AN EMERGENCY...PLEASE DO
NOT TRAVEL ON THE ROADWAYS...AND IF TRAVELING...PLEASE KEEP
EMERGENCY SUPPLIES IN YOUR VEHICLE.

  EASTERN CATSKILLS...MID HUDSON VALLEY...TACONICS...GREATER
  CAPITAL REGION...SCHOHARIE VALLEY...HELDERBERGS...LAKE GEORGE
  SARATOGA REGION...HAMILTON COUNTY AND THE MOHAWK VALLEY.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW AND SOME DRIFTING SNOW.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...8 TO 14 INCHES...EXCEPT 5 TO 12 INCHES IN
  THE WESTERN MOHAWK VALLEY AND SOUTHERN ADIRONDACKS. GREATEST
  TOTALS EXPECTED ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE BERKSHIRES
  AND SOUTHERN GREENS WITH 10 TO 20 INCHES.

* MAXIMUM SNOWFALL RATES...1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR EXPECTED...
  DECREASING TO LESS THAN A HALF INCH PER HOUR BETWEEN MIDNIGHT
  AND 2 AM.

* TIMING...THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVIEST PRIOR TO MIDNIGHT...AND
  THEN TAPER TO LIGHT SNOW THEREAFTER.

* IMPACTS...THIS STORM WILL SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACT HOLIDAY TRAVEL...
  MAKING DRIVING DANGEROUS AT TIMES WITH SNOW COVERED ROADS AND
  POOR VISIBILITIES. ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE WHERE
  THE HEAVIEST SNOW OCCURS.

* VISIBILITIES...LESS THAN ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES...IMPROVING TO
  GREATER THAN 2 MILES AFTER MIDNIGHT.

* WINDS...NORTH 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE MID 20S TO LOWERS 30S.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...
FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
