THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SLEET...SNOW AND LIGHT FREEZING RAIN...WHICH
IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 AM EST TUESDAY.

* LOCATIONS...THE HIGH TERRAIN OF NORTHEAST CONNECTICUT...SOUTHWEST
  AND SOUTH CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS AS WELL AS INTERIOR NORTHEAST
  MASSACHUSETTS.

* HAZARD TYPES...MAINLY SLEET WITH PERHAPS A BIT OF SNOW AND
  POCKETS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW/SLEET ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 1 INCH...ALONG
  WITH AROUND A TRACE OF ICE ACCRETION.

* TIMING...WHILE SOME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS WILL OCCUR THROUGH LATE
  AFTERNOON WITH PERHAPS SOME LIGHT SNOW AND SLEET ACROSS INTERIOR
  NORTHEAST MA. HEAVIER PRECIPITATION IN THE FORM OF MAINLY SLEET
  WILL DEVELOP BETWEEN 5 AND 8 PM THIS EVENING...POTENTIALLY
  IMPACTING A PART OF THE EVENING RUSH HOUR. SLEET MAY BE MIXED
  WITH SOME SNOW FOR A TIME THIS EVENING ACROSS INTERIOR NORTHEAST
  MASSACHUSETTS. PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO MAINLY RAIN BY
  DAYBREAK TUESDAY, BUT POCKET OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL BE
  POSSIBLE ACROSS INTERIOR NORTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS.

* IMPACTS...UNTREATED ROADS AND WALKWAYS WILL BECOME SLIPPERY THIS
  EVENING. THIS MAY IMPACT THE EVENING RUSH HOUR.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR

and interior northern Massachusetts this morning...

Pockets of light snow showers...light sleet and freezing drizzle
will be possible across far western and interior northern
Massachusetts this morning. While any precipitation that falls
will be rather light...untreated roads may be slippery this
morning particularly across the higher terrain. Motorists planning
travel should be prepared for slippery spots and drive with extra
caution this morning.

  SOUTHWEST...CENTRAL AND EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS

* WINDS...NORTHEAST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL INCREASE TODAY WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS
  OCCURRING TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS...THESE WINDS WILL BE CAPABLE OF DOWNING AND FEW TREES
  AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 31 TO 39 MPH ARE
EXPECTED...WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 46 TO 57 MPH. WINDS THIS STRONG ARE
CAPABLE OF DOWNING SMALL TREE LIMBS AND BRANCHES, POSSIBLY
CAUSING ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES. DRIVING CAN ALSO BE DIFFICULT...
ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
