EVENING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for eastern Massachusetts and
southern Rhode Island.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the
Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Wind Advisory.

Periods of light snow will develop across south coastal Massachusetts
and coastal Rhode Island overnight tonight. Untreated roadways may
become locally slippery with any new snow cover, especially during
the early Thursday morning commute.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Light snow will taper off across south coastal areas by midday
Thursday. However, there may still be some slippery roadways across
the region with cold temperatures in place.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

...WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 10 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* Location...East coast of MA, including the Cape and islands,
  as well as Block Island.

* Winds...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph.

* Timing...Strongest wind gusts this afternoon to early evening.

* Impacts...Potential for downed tree limbs and branches. Isolated
  power outages possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are
expected, with gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are
capable of downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly
causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
